Biography
Artemis Papadopoulou was born in 1978 in Athens. She lived and studied in the UK from 1997 to 2004.
In 1998 she studied Media design in City College Manchester. She has a degree in Visual Arts from the
University of Salford in Manchester. During that time she participated in conceptual Art projects, which
involved working across different media from painting and sculpture to new media such as computer
generated imaging and installation, in order to develop her own practice. After graduating in 2002 she
moved to London where she gained some work experience. In 2004 she continued her studies in Milan
and attended a course in Image Making, at Marangoni Institute in order to broaden the scope of her
Artwork. In 2005 she was recruited by the Fashion Designer Kathy Heyndels in Athens, Greece were she
designed a jeans line with embroidery designs. She also worked as an Image maker for the company's
collections up to 2006. In 2008 she was recruited by a Concept store based in Athens, which featured
a special mix of Designer brands and products. Living in Manchester and London has influenced her ideas
in relation to urban spaces and city environment, elements which are depicted in her work through
the use of different colours and fabrics which carry these messages. She is currently living in
Athens where she develops her own practice as an independent artist.
